# Text Campaigns

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Can we import an existing contact list for text marketing?">
    No, we cannot import an existing contact list for texting marketing.

    **For compliance reasons:**

    * We cannot import a contact list from another platform directly.
    * We also cannot manually opt patrons into text messaging on your behalf.

    **You can:**

    1. Add patrons and their info in Marketing → Patrons → Add Patron.
    2. Patrons must still opt in to text messaging themselves through the proper flows before you can text them marketing content.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="How do I set up a text marketing campaign?">
    **Once your text marketing number is approved:**

    1. Go to your Dashboard → Marketing → Communication → Campaigns to create and send campaigns.
    2. Your approved text marketing number will be visible there.

    **For compliance and consent:**

    * Patrons must opt in themselves through approved flows (e.g., your ordering site/app or in-store signup).
    * You must follow standard text marketing rules around: clear opt-in; easy opt-out (e.g., replying STOP); only sending messages to patrons who have given proper consent.
