# Common Use Cases

> Example questions you can ask the Dripos connector in Claude or ChatGPT to pull sales, labor, product, and payment insights in plain language.

Once you've connected Dripos to Claude or ChatGPT, you can ask questions about
your business in plain language and get answers pulled straight from your Dripos
data, no report builder or exports required. Many of the questions below come
from features our customers have asked us for over the years, and the connector
can now answer them on demand.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Haven't set up the connector yet? Start with the
> [Dripos connector setup guide](https://support.dripos.com/integrations/dripos-mcp). You can ask these
> questions for a single location or across all of your locations, and for the
> date range you choose.

## Sales performance and trends

Pull your top-line numbers and compare performance across any time period,
including the custom comparisons and this-time-last-year views that come up most
often.

* "What were my gross sales and ticket count for Monday to Sunday last week,
compared to the Monday to Sunday before that?"
* "Compare my gross sales and tickets from the 1st of this month to yesterday
with the same dates last year."
* "What were my gross sales and tickets yesterday compared to the same day last
  week?"
* "Which hours of the day brought in the most gross sales over the last 30 days?"
* "Which 5 days in the last 30 days had the highest gross sales?"
* "Compare my gross sales and tickets from 6 AM to 11 AM with 11 AM to 4 PM over
  the last 30 days."

## Product and menu insights

See what's selling and what isn't, down to the individual product.

* "What were my top 10 products by net sales last month?"
* "Which 10 products had the fewest orders last quarter, counting only products
  that sold at least once?"
* "How many orders included an Oat Milk Latte last week across all locations,
and what were its net sales?"
* "What were my top 5 products by net sales on Saturdays and Sundays last month,
  compared to Monday through Friday?"
* "What were my top 5 products by net sales between 7 AM and 10 AM last month?"

## Category sales

Break your sales down by category to see where your revenue is coming from.

* "What percentage of my gross sales came from each category last month?"
* "Compare gross sales by category for each of the last three months."
* "Show me net sales for my Coffee, Espresso, and Tea categories compared to my
Bakery and Food categories last week."

## Labor versus sales

Understand how your labor spend lines up with your sales.

* "What was my labor cost as a percentage of gross sales last week, Monday to
  Sunday?"
* "Which day last week, Monday to Sunday, had the highest labor cost as a
percentage of gross sales across all my locations?"
* "Compare labor cost, gross sales and labor % for each location from the 1st of
  this month through yesterday."

## Discounts and promotions

See how much you're giving away and which discounts are being used.

* "What was the total dollar amount of discounts applied last month?"
* "Which 10 discounts took the most dollars off my sales last month?"
* "Which discount was applied the most times last week, and how much did it take
  off?"
* "How many times was my Free Drink After 10 Points reward redeemed last month,
and how much did it take off my sales?"

## Modifiers

Find out how your add-ons and modifiers are performing.

* "Which modifier options were added to the most orders last month?"
* "How many orders included the Oat Milk modifier option last month, across all
  modifier groups?"
* "How much net revenue did my Syrups and Milk modifier groups bring in last
  month?"

## Order types and platforms

Compare how you're selling: in-house, online, and through third-party delivery
platforms.

* "Compare my gross sales from registers, Dripos Go and kiosk with my online
ordering and mobile app sales last month."
* "What were my gross sales and number of payments for each ordering platform
  last month?"
* "How much of my gross sales came from third-party delivery platforms last week,
  Monday to Sunday?"
* "Compare order counts for each of my order types last month."
* "What were my gross sales, net sales and tickets last month, with and without
  third-party delivery orders?"

## Payment methods

Break your sales down by how customers are paying.

* "What was my cash versus card split by net payment last week, Monday to Sunday?"
* "Show me collected, refunds, net and processing fees for each payment method
  last month."
* "How much did customers pay with gift cards (physical and digital) yesterday?"

## Fees, refunds, and tips

Get to the numbers that shape your bottom line, without exporting a single
report.

* "How much did I pay in processing fees last month, broken down by payment
  method?"
* "What were my card payments last week after refunds and processing fees?"
* "How much did I refund to customers last month, including tax and tips, by
  payment method?"
* "How much was collected in tips last week, split by card and cash?"

## Taxes

Pull the tax figures you need without digging through reports.

* "How much sales tax did I collect last month, broken down by tax rate?"
* "What were my taxable and non-taxable sales last quarter, and which items made
  up the non-taxable sales?"
* "Show me tax collected by tax rate for last week."
* "Show me tax collected for each menu category last week."

## Comparing multiple locations

If you run more than one location, compare them side by side in a single
question.

* "Rank my locations by gross sales last month."
* "Compare labor cost percentage across all my locations from Monday through
  yesterday."
* "Which location had the most orders of an Oat Milk Latte last month?"
* "Which location had the highest net sales in my Lattes category last month?"

## Go deeper by combining questions

The connector's real advantage over a static report is that it can pull from
several reports at once to answer a single, layered question.

* "On my highest-sales day last week, what were my top 5 products by net sales
and what was my labor cost?"
* "Compare last month to the same month last year: gross sales, net sales,
tickets, labor cost, labor %, and total discounts."
* "Which location had the highest gross sales last week, and which categories and
top 5 products made up the most of its sales?"

## Turn answers into charts and daily recaps

Because you're asking through Claude or ChatGPT, you're not limited to numbers in
a chat. You can ask for a chart of anything above, and even set it to run on a
schedule and land in your inbox.

* "Make me a dashboard of daily gross sales, labor cost and labor % for each of
my locations over the last 30 days."
* "Every day at 9 AM ET, email me yesterday's gross sales, labor cost and labor %
by location, with a link to my dashboard."
* "Every Monday at 8 AM ET, email me last week's top 10 products by net sales and
top 5 discounts by amount, Monday to Sunday."

> [!NOTE]
>
> The Dripos connector provides the data. The chart, the schedule, and the email
> delivery are handled by Claude or ChatGPT, so those options depend on the
> assistant you're using and your plan there.

> [!TIP]
>
> You don't need to phrase questions a specific way. Ask naturally, and follow
> up to narrow things down ("just the Main Street location" or "break that out
> by week"). The connector will pull the right data for you.
