# Connect Claude and ChatGPT to Dripos

> Ask Claude or ChatGPT about your sales, products, and labor using read-only Dripos report data

## What this connector does

The Dripos connector lets Claude and ChatGPT answer questions about your sales, products, modifiers, and labor. It reads the same report data you see in the dashboard, for the locations your signed-in Dripos account can already report on.

> [!NOTE]
>
> The connector is read-only. It cannot create, change, or delete anything in Dripos.

Dripos is not yet listed in the Claude or ChatGPT connector directories, so you add it manually with this URL:

```
https://mcp.dripos.com/mcp
```

### Before you start

Your Dripos account must be able to report on at least one location. You qualify if you are a partner (owner) of the location, or an active employee whose role has the **Admin** or **Full Reports** permission under **Team** > **Roles**. Roles with only individual report permissions, such as **Sales Report**, do not qualify.

## Claude

Custom connectors work on Claude Free, Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise plans. Free accounts are limited to one custom connector.

### Pro and Max

**1. Open Connectors**

Go to **Customize** > **Connectors**.

**2. Add a custom connector**

Select **+ Add**, then **Add custom connector**.

**3. Name it and paste the URL**

Enter `Dripos` as the name, paste `https://mcp.dripos.com/mcp` as the remote MCP server URL, then select **Continue**.

**4. Keep the detected settings**

Claude detects that Dripos uses OAuth. Leave **OAuth client** on **Use Claude's published identity**, and leave **Request headers** empty. API keys are only for the developer setup below.

**5. Finish and sign in**

Select **Add**, then **Connect**. Enter the phone number or email on your Dripos account, enter the verification code, review the locations on the consent screen, and select **Allow**.

### Team and Enterprise

An Owner or Primary Owner has to add the connector for the organization first, in **Organization settings** > **Connectors** > **Add** > **Custom** > **Web**, using the same URL. Members then go to **Customize** > **Connectors**, find **Dripos**, and select **Connect** to sign in with their own Dripos account. Each member only sees the locations their own account can report on.

### Turn it on in a chat

Select the **+** button in the chat box, choose **Connectors**, and enable **Dripos** for that conversation.

### Claude Code

```shell theme={null}
claude mcp add --transport http dripos https://mcp.dripos.com/mcp
```

Then run `/mcp` and follow the sign-in prompts.

## ChatGPT

> [!WARNING]
>
> ChatGPT limits custom connectors by plan. **Pro** can add read-only servers like Dripos. **Business** and **Enterprise/Edu** can too, but only an admin or owner can add and publish one for the workspace. **Free and Plus cannot.** Either way it is ChatGPT on the web, not the mobile apps.

**1. Open Plugins**

Go to [chatgpt.com/plugins](https://chatgpt.com/plugins).

**2. Add a custom MCP server**

Select the plus button, then **Add custom MCP server**.

**3. Name it and paste the URL**

Enter `Dripos` as the name. Under **Connection**, enter `https://mcp.dripos.com/mcp`.

**4. Set authentication to OAuth**

Choose OAuth. ChatGPT reads the sign-in details from Dripos automatically.

**5. Acknowledge and create**

Select **I understand and want to continue**, then **Create as a plugin**, and review the tools it discovers.

**6. Sign in**

Install the plugin and start a new chat. Enter the phone number or email on your Dripos account, enter the verification code, review the locations on the consent screen, and select **Allow**.

To use it, type `@` in the prompt box and select **Dripos**. App selection applies to that message, not the whole conversation, so mention it again when a follow-up needs fresh numbers.

> [!NOTE]
>
> ChatGPT freezes the list of tools when an admin publishes the connection. When Dripos adds a report, an admin has to refresh the tool list in workspace settings before the new one is usable.

## Example prompts

* "Show sales from last week for each location."
* "What were my top 10 products this month?"
* "Which modifiers sell the most?"
* "Compare sales across locations on Sundays from 8 AM to 1 PM."
* "What was labor percentage yesterday for each store?"
* "How do I set up a printer rule?"

> [!TIP]
>
> Name the location, the date range, and the comparison you want. Dates are read in each store's own timezone.

## What the connector can report

> **List Locations**
>
> Lists the locations your account can report on, so the assistant can pick the right store.

> **Get Sales Summary**
>
> Sales totals with day, hour-of-day, and payment-method breakdowns. Can be filtered to specific days of the week or hours of the day.

> **Get Product Sales**
>
> Sales per product, ranked by net sales. Up to 1,000 products, and products can be combined across locations.

> **Get Modifier Sales**
>
> Add-on and customization sales per modifier, with the options customers chose.

> **Get Labor vs Sales**
>
> Labor cost against gross sales by location and date, matching the **Labor vs Sales** report. A single-day request also returns an hourly breakdown.

> **Search Dripos Support Docs**
>
> Searches this guidebook so the assistant can answer how-to and setup questions with a link to the page.

A single request covers at most 366 days. All amounts come back in cents and match the matching report in the dashboard.

## Data freshness

Recent figures, including today, are read live. Older figures come from the reporting warehouse, which refreshes once a day. If a number looks off, check that the date range and the location's timezone are what you expected, and whether the dashboard report is set to **Date reported** or **Date captured**.

## Access and privacy

> **One company per connection**
>
> You pick a company when you sign in, and the connection is bound to it. Other companies your account can reach stay out of reach until you connect again and pick one.

> **Read-only**
>
> The connector reads reports. It cannot create, update, or delete anything in Dripos.

Within that company, the connector follows your Dripos permissions as they are **right now**, not as they were on the consent screen. If you are given access to another location, the connector can report on it without reconnecting. If your access is removed, the connector loses it too, within about a minute. To cut access entirely, disconnect Dripos from your assistant or ask Dripos to revoke the connection.

Your AI provider receives only the report results the connector returns for the questions you ask. Review the [Dripos privacy policy](https://dripos.com/privacy) and your provider's data policy before connecting.

## For developers: API keys

Dripos can issue a company-scoped API key for teams building their own tools. Send requests to `https://mcp.dripos.com/mcp` with an `Authorization: Bearer <key>` header.

```shell theme={null}
claude mcp add --transport http dripos https://mcp.dripos.com/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer <key>"
```

API keys are read-only, cover every location in the company, and are requested and revoked through Dripos support.

## Troubleshooting

> **No locations available**
>
> Your account cannot report on any location. Ask the owner to add you as a partner, or to give your role the **Admin** or **Full Reports** permission under **Team** > **Roles**, then connect again.

> **Claude or ChatGPT cannot reach the server**
>
> Confirm the URL is exactly `https://mcp.dripos.com/mcp`, including `/mcp`. Both products connect from their own cloud, not from your computer, so a VPN on your machine makes no difference.

> **Sign-in loop or expired session**
>
> Disconnect Dripos, add it again, and complete sign-in.

> **Date range too large**
>
> One request covers up to 366 days. Ask for a shorter range.

> **Too many requests**
>
> The connector is rate limited. Wait a minute and try again.

> **Slow or timed-out report**
>
> Narrow the date range, or ask about fewer locations at once.

> **Numbers differ from the dashboard**
>
> Check the location timezone and the date range first, then whether the dashboard report uses **Date reported** or **Date captured**.

## Disconnect

In Claude, go to **Customize** > **Connectors**, select **Dripos**, then **Remove**. In ChatGPT, an admin removes the plugin from workspace settings.

Dripos can also revoke access for you. Email [support@dripos.com](mailto:support@dripos.com).
