# Review Agent Setup

> Connect Google, map your locations, and start sending review requests

Setup runs inside the **Review Agent** page once the agreement is signed. Work down the sidebar steps, then activate 🔧

## Setup Steps

<Steps>
  <Step title="Choose Your Approach">
    Your approach decides what customers are asked for and what the feedback form does after they submit.

    * **Feedback, then Google**: recommended. Customers rate their visit privately, then every one of them is offered a Google review.
    * **Google review only**: customers go straight to your Google review page. No rating is collected, so you learn nothing about unhappy customers.
    * **Private feedback only**: customers rate and comment. Google is never mentioned and no review link is shown.

    You can switch approaches later from your review settings. The change applies to requests sent from that point on, and feedback you already collected is never deleted or hidden.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Connect Your Google Business Profile">
    Sign in with the Google account that already manages your business on Google, the one you use to reply to reviews or change your hours. A personal account that merely follows the business will not work.

    Review Agent reads your profiles and their reviews. It does not post, edit, or delete anything on your profile from this connection.

    <Accordion title="Your business does not appear in the list">
      * You signed in with the wrong Google account. Only the account that owns or manages the profile can offer it.
      * A recent invitation to manage the profile has not been accepted in Google yet.
      * The profile is unverified. An unverified business has no public review page, so verify it with Google first.
    </Accordion>

    <Note>
      If you chose **Private feedback only**, this step and the next one are optional and can be skipped.
    </Note>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Map Your Locations">
    Pair each Dripos location on the left with the Google profile it belongs to on the right. Profile names are set in Google and do not always match your location names, so match on the address.

    <Warning>
      Mapping is per location. A location with no profile paired to it sends its customers to a plain thank-you screen with no Google option, and nothing reports this as an error. Locations added later start unmapped.
    </Warning>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Brand Your Feedback Form">
    Two settings control how the form looks to a customer:

    * **Logo**: displayed small and centered at the top of the form, so a square or near-square image reproduces best.
    * **Accent color**: applied to the brand band and the submit button. Without one, the form uses a default green.

    The form is built for a phone screen first. A wide logo sized for a website header will render smaller here than it does there.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Customize Your Messages">
    Edit the wording of the email and the text message that carry the request.

    * The **email** has a subject line and a body, and has room for context about the visit.
    * The **text message** is a single short message. The link takes up part of the available length, and carriers split longer texts into multiple segments.

    The message only needs to get the form opened. The rating, the comment, and the Google ask all happen on the form itself.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Preview Before You Activate">
    The phone preview beside the approach cards renders your real logo, color, question wording, rating scale, and email. Pick a high rating to walk the Google path, then start over and pick a low one to see the comment box.

    Nothing entered in the preview is stored against a customer or counted in your metrics.

    <Note>
      The preview resolves a review page for one location only. It does not confirm that your other locations are mapped.
    </Note>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Activate">
    Finish setup with sending turned on and requests begin going out to customers who qualify from that point forward.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Email and Text Requests

Enabling both channels does not send two requests. A customer is asked once per visit, and responding on either channel closes the request. A customer with no mobile number receives the email instead, as long as email is enabled.

<Warning>
  Text marketing requires prior written consent from the customer. Holding a mobile number is not consent on its own, a number given at checkout or for an order was not given for marketing messages. A customer who replies STOP is suppressed from texts immediately and has to opt back in themselves.
</Warning>

## Pausing Requests

The **Messages** step has a switch that controls whether review requests go out. Turning it off keeps your approach, branding, and message wording intact.

* No new requests start, and requests already waiting to send are skipped.
* The dashboard shows a banner while requests are off, with a **Turn on requests** button.
* Customers whose visits happened while requests were off are not asked later.
* A reminder that was already scheduled still goes out if requests are back on by the time it is due.
