# Company Menu Overview

> Manage one shared menu across every location in your company.

Company Menu gives multi-location businesses one place to manage categories, products, and modifiers. Instead of maintaining separate copies for each store, your team edits a shared company menu and chooses where each item is available.

  If your dashboard uses separate menus for each location, continue using the original [Create Menu guides](/orders/menu/categories/categories-basics). Your current workflow has not changed.

## What changes with Company Menu

| **Menu setup**           | Each location maintains its own categories, products, and modifiers. | The company manages one shared set of categories, products, and modifiers.           |
| **Edits**                | Changes apply to the menu item at the location you are viewing.      | Changes apply to the shared item everywhere it is enabled.                           |
| **Location differences** | Each location has its own copy of the item.                          | Use **Location Availability** to choose which stores offer the item.                 |
| **Modifiers**            | Similar modifiers may need to be copied or synced between locations. | Global modifiers are shared and can be attached to products across the company menu. |

## Before you edit

Check **Location Availability** before saving a category or product. A shared item can be configured correctly but remain unavailable at a store if that location is not selected.

Changes to a shared category, product, or global modifier can affect multiple stores. Review the selected locations and attached products before saving, archiving, or deleting anything.
