How to Begin Setting up the WisePos E
Effortlessly streamline your payment process by setting up and pairing a card reader with your Dripos Point of Sale device, enabling secure and efficient transactions for your business and customers. Follow the steps below to get started setting up your card reader.
Setting up the Card Reader
- Once you have unboxed your new reader, install the battery by going to the back of the reader > lift up from the indentation at the bottom left corner to detach the back cover > insert the battery by sliding it into the exposed slot with the gold connectors at the top aligned:
- Next, charge the reader by plugging the provided cable into the port with the lightning bolt symbol:
- Once the reader is fully charged, hold down the power button on the right hand side until the screen turns on.
- Note: Even when it’s not in use, leave the reader plugged in and powered on to receive automatic software updates.

Once the reader has fully powered on, you will need to connect it to the same local network as your POS device. You can connect to the internet via WiFi or Ethernet.

To connect the WisePOS E terminal to Wi-Fi, follow the steps below:
- Swipe right from the left edge of the reader screen > click the Settings button:
- You will then be prompted to enter the admin PIN, which will always be 07139.
- Once on the Admin options page, click Network.
- Select the same Wi-Fi network that your POS device is connected to and enter your password:

Note: Your WiFi network must use either WPA-Personal or WPA2-Personal encryption and be password protected. non-password-protected networks , enterprise networks, and IPV6 networks are not supported.

If successfully connected, a green checkmark should appear on your connected network:
- Next, press Connect. This will prompt a series of loading screens to appear:
- The reader will end up on a final home screen, which is always shown when no transaction is taking place.
- Once a network connection is established, the reader will generate a three word pairing code formatted as “one-two-three” which can be input into the POS.
