Auto Order Confirmation Messaging

In this article, we'll cover how to enable and customize automatic text messages to be sent at order confirmation and order completion. To begin this process, you'll need to have access to the web partner dashboard. Simply visit partner.dripos.com and log in with your phone number and enter the 6 digit One-Time-Passcode (OTP).

Getting Started

When you first log in to the partner dashboard it will look something like this:

On the right side of the page you'll notice some quick links to various dashboards, as well as a brief daily sales summary. On the left side of the page, you'll notice a menu tab! Under Point of Sale, click on Checkout Flow. You'll notice a dropdown menu that looks like this:

Next, click on Ticket Types! That will bring you to this screen.

Most stores will utilize For Here, Mobile, and To Go ticket types. These types help differentiate where orders are coming from and where they should be directed after an order is completed.

For example, To Go orders may require packing the order in a different way than For Here orders. These Ticket Types can also be customized to automatically send different order confirmation and order completed texts.

For instance, a curbside pickup ticket type could have automatic text messages include information on where to park upon order confirmation or order completion. Click on a ticket type, and it will bring up a screen that looks like this:

For the purposes of this example, we're going to be looking at the 'For Here' ticket type, but these settings will be the same across all ticket types! We'll be focusing on the three boxes outlined in red.

The first box titled 'Custom text on ticket placed' contains the text message that will be sent upon an order being placed and confirmed. There are two variables in each text: the patron name and the link to their receipt. In order to insert the patron name in the body of a text message, simply type {{name}} wherever you'd like in the message. The link to a receipt can be inserted by typing {{RECEIPT}} in the body of the message.

Ex: If you wanted your order confirmation text to say:

"Hello John, your order has been confirmed! Here's the link to your receipt: https://order.dripos.com/receipt/1234", you would type out:

"Hello {{NAME}}, your order has been confirmed! Here's the link to your receipt: {{RECEIPT}}".

The second modal titled 'POS/KIOSK Checkout Notifies Customer on Ticket Completed' is a toggle that determines whether the order completion message will be sent for POS or Kiosk orders. Mobile or Web orders automatically send both order confirmation and order completion text messages. Make sure this toggle is on 'Yes' if you'd like orders placed at the kiosk and POS to send a order completion message!

The third box titled 'Custom notification message on ticket completion' works the same way as the first box. Simply insert {{NAME}} and {{RECEIPT}} wherever you'd like them to display in the custom message.

Ex: If you wanted your order confirmation text to say:

"Hello John, your order is ready for pickup at the window! Here's the link to your receipt: https://order.dripos.com/receipt/1234", you would type out:

"Hello {{NAME}}, your order is ready for pickup at the window! Here's the link to your receipt: {{RECEIPT}}".

When you're finished editing these three modals, feel free to leave the other toggles as they are and don't forget to scroll down and save your changes!

Congrats! By now you've learned to edit and enable custom text messages that automatically send when an order is placed/confirmed and when an order is completed! Feel free to repeat this process with any other ticket types you may have.
