When accepting debit and credit card transactions, the funds generated from these sales are processed and subsequently transferred to the company’s designated bank account through payouts.

Payout Timeline

A payout from a day of debit and credit card sales will land in the designated bank account 2-3 business days after that day of sales. The timeline is as follows:

  • 1 business day for Dripos to process the sale

  • An additional 1-2 businesses days for the bank to process the deposit*

A payout period of eligible sales spans from 7pm EST/8pm EDT (UTC midnight) one business day to 7pm EST/8pm EDT (UTC midnight) the following business day. See two real examples of timelines below:

  • If a coffee purchase is made on a Tuesday at 3 PM ET, the funds from this sale will undergo Dripos processing on Wednesday and then be paid out by Dripos at earliest on Thursday.

  • If a scone purchase is made on Saturday at 11 AM ET, the funds from this sale will undergo Dripos processing on Monday and then be paid out by Dripos at earliest on Tuesday.

*Please note that payout funds may take longer to land in a bank account depending on a specific bank account’s processing timeline.

Payout Fee

Every payout incurs a payout fee, which is calculated at a rate of 0.25% + 25¢ of the total payout amount.

Matching Payouts to Sales

Payouts consist of sales from debit and credit card payments only. This includes card present (in person payments) and card not present transactions (online and manual card payments).

To see how your sales are broken down during that payout’s time period, navigate to your web dashboard and click Reports > Sales Summary. Click the date range to find a drop down option ‘Stripe Payout Ranges’ > select the desired payout. The dates and times of sales corresponding to the payout will auto-select. Then, press Generate Report.

  • The payout amount will match the Net Total of Card payments listed in the Sales Summary Report

The same can be done on the Payment Methods Report, where the payout amount will match the Net Total of Card payments.

Tax Withholding

Sales taxes collected from card transactions are included in regular daily payouts; but, Dripos additionally provides the option to withhold total sales taxes from a daily payout. These sales taxes are then available to be paid out in a lump sum at the end of each month. Consider it a kind of savings account within Dripos for monthly sales taxes!
