A) Employee Portal: Dashboard

Learn how to navigate the home page of the employee portal!

What's in this article?

The dashboard page is the first thing you'll see upon opening the dashboard app as both an employee and manager. Here you can see bulletin posts, view upcoming shifts, setup your shift availability, and much more!

There are 4 main sections to this page which we will cover in this article:

  1. Profile Page
  2. Bulletin Posts
  3. Upcoming Shifts
  4. Current Pay

1. Profile Page

To access the profile page inside of the dashboard, simply tap the profile icon in the top right of the screen. It should pull up the following popup:

Once here, there are 4 main actions an employee can do.

  1. You can edit your personal information and employee pin on the top section.
  2. You can set scheduling availability inside of the 'My Availability' section under Account Settings. Here you can enter times that you are not available to be scheduled as an employee and they will show on the schedule as a manager is filling it out.
  3. You can view pending trade requests inside of the 'Trade Requests' section under Account Settings. As you'll learn later in this article, you can trade shifts with fellow employees. This is where you can accept new trades and see the status of existing ones.
  4. You can submit time off requests inside of the 'Time off' section under Account Settings. A time off request needs approval from a manager and will allow you to have time off for a unique time/event.

2. Bulletin Posts

Managers are able to post directly onto the app in this section. It can be used for things like team updates, training materials, and more. When viewing a post, you can comment directly onto it for the whole company to see.

3. Upcoming Shifts

This section will show your next 3 upcoming shifts that have been scheduled. Tap the 'More' button if you'd like to see all of your upcoming shifts.

If you'd like to trade on of these shifts, simply tap on the one you'd like to trade and then hit the 'Request Trade' button. You'll be able to select an employee to trade with and add a message. Once submitted, the employee traded with will need to approve the request inside of their profile page. After that, the trade will need to be approved by a manager on their dashboard before it goes through.

4. Current Pay

This section will show an employee all of their historical shifts over different weekly periods. It'll calculate their gross pay based off these shifts. Note that real pay might be different than this estimated pay as it does not currently take into account actual timecards, taxes, or tips. There may be more factors as well so use this as an estimate!
