Your Tax Filings page shows every federal, state, and local payroll tax filing that Check, our payroll compliance partner, prepares and submits for your business. Use this page to confirm filings are on track, review filings that have already been accepted by an agency, and take action on any filing that is Blocked before its due date.

If your company has more than one payroll EIN, a Location filter appears at the top of the page. Use it to switch between the filings of each of your locations without leaving the page.

Filing Statuses

Every filing carries one of the following statuses.

Pending

The filing is queued and will be submitted when it is due. Nothing is needed from you.

Blocked

Something is preventing the filing from being submitted. Review the blockers listed on the filing and resolve them before the due date.

Submitted

The filing has been sent to the agency and is awaiting acknowledgement.

Filed

The agency accepted the filing. A copy is available to download.

Inapplicable

Your company does not owe this filing for the period.

Held by Customer

You placed a hold on the filing. It will not be submitted until you release the hold.
A Blocked filing will not be submitted to the agency, even if its due date passes. Late filings can result in agency penalties and interest charged to your business. Learn how to clear a blocker here.

Summary Cards

Three cards sit at the top of the page. Click a card to instantly filter the table to those filings, and click it again to clear the filter.

Upcoming

When a card is selected, a Filtered by pill appears below the filter row. Click the X on the pill to return to the full list.

Filters

Only appears when your company has more than one payroll EIN. Select which location’s filings to display.
Show only Pending, Blocked, Submitted, Filed, or Inapplicable filings. Select All statuses to clear.
Select one or more filing periods: Annual, Q1 through Q4, any individual month, or Other.
The page opens filtered to the most recently closed quarter plus Annual, since those are the filings most likely to need your attention. Adjust the filter to see other periods.
Defaults to the current year. Select All years to view your full filing history.
Select one or more jurisdictions, grouped under Federal, State, and Local.
Choose All, Amendments Only, or Originals Only. Amendments are corrected filings submitted after an original return.
Use the search bar above the table to search by filing name, such as the form number.

The Filings Table

Filings that need attention are listed first, followed by pending, submitted, filed, and inapplicable filings. Click any column header to re-sort the table.
  • Filing: The name of the form or return, such as Form 941
  • Period: The period the filing covers, such as Q1 2026 or Annual 2025
  • Jurisdiction: Federal, a two letter state code, or a local jurisdiction code
  • Due: The date the filing is due to the agency
  • Status: The current status of the filing
  • View: Opens the filing’s detail page
Shops with very large filing histories may see a banner reading Only the first 10,000 filings are shown. Narrow the Location or Is Amendment filter to bring the remaining filings into view.

Filing Details

Click View on any filing to open its detail page. The page is broken into the following sections.
A summary of the filing, including its Status, Jurisdiction, Period, and, where applicable, the Agency, Due date, Filed date, and whether the filing is an Amendment.
Only appears when a filing is Blocked. Each blocker is listed on its own card with a description, instructions under What to do, and any available action buttons. Some blockers clear on their own once an underlying issue is fixed. In those cases the filing displays Blocked - will clear automatically. No action needed; Check re-checks on the next sync.See the full blocker reference for every blocker type and how to resolve it.
A running history of the filing, from oldest to newest. The timeline records every status change, plus any time you contacted the payroll team about the filing, shown as Support Requested.
If a filing corrects a previous return, or has itself been corrected, links to the related filings appear at the bottom of the page.

Download a Filed Return

Once a filing reaches Filed, a Download Filing button appears in the top right of the detail page. Click it to download a PDF copy of the return.
Filings download as a PDF. If nothing happens when you click the button, check whether pop-ups are blocked in your web browser.

Hold a Filing

Placing a hold tells Check not to submit a filing to the agency. This is useful when you are still confirming information with an agency or with your previous payroll provider.
A filing on hold will not be submitted, even if its due date passes. You are responsible for any agency penalties or interest that result from a filing held past its deadline. Release the hold as soon as you are ready.
1
Open a Pending filing and click Hold Filing in the top right.
2
Review the confirmation message and click Hold Filing to confirm.
3
The filing’s status changes to Held by customer and an On hold card appears on the detail page.
Hold Filing is only available while a filing is Pending. Once a filing has been submitted to an agency, it can no longer be held.

Release a Hold

1
Open the filing and click Release hold on the On hold card.
2
Click Release Hold to confirm. The filing goes back in line to be submitted to the agency.

Action Center Alerts

When at least one of your filings is blocked, an alert appears in the Action Center on your Payroll Dashboard:
You have blocked tax filings. 1 or more tax filings need attention. Please click below to review.
Click Review Tax Filings to jump straight to your blocked filings. This alert cannot be dismissed and remains until every blocker is resolved, because an agency deadline is at stake.

Troubleshooting

This is usually temporary. Click Try again on the banner to reload the page. If the message keeps appearing, reach out to Dripos Support.
Check your Period and Year filters first. The page opens filtered to the most recently closed quarter and the current year. Set Year to All years and clear the Period filter to view your full history. If your company has multiple payroll EINs, also confirm the correct Location is selected.
Tax Filings sits under Finance > Payroll and requires the Payroll permission. Ask an admin at your shop to grant you access, or confirm your shop has completed payroll onboarding.
