Invoice tips:
  • If your tips are split by Transaction, tips on invoices are not automatically split among employees.
  • Invoice tips are included in your payouts, and you can manually split them among employees, then add them to payroll by clicking + Tips in the Hours & Pay step when running payroll.
  • You can see invoice tips by: 1) Orders → Invoicing → Invoice List → View (scroll to see the breakdown), or 2) Dashboard → Reports → Invoicing (filter by date and view the Tips column).
Days when nobody is clocked in:
  • Tips are always included in your daily payouts, even if you plan to distribute them later.
  • If no tips need to be distributed via payroll, the money simply stays in your bank account.
Dripos follows federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines for overtime when the “Calculate Overtime with Dripos” setting is enabled. How overtime is calculated:
  1. Overtime threshold
  • For employees covered by FLSA, overtime is calculated on all hours worked over 40 in a workweek.
  1. Overtime rate
  • Any hours over 40 in a workweek are paid at 1.5x the employee’s regular hourly rate (“time and a half”).
  1. How this works in Dripos
  • When Calculate Overtime with Dripos is turned on in your Dashboard → Settings → Time Cards , Dripos: ▪ Tracks total hours worked per employee each workweek. ▪ Automatically applies the 1.5x overtime rate to all hours over 40. ▪ Sends those overtime hours and rates directly into Dripos Payroll for you.
  1. Who is typically covered by FLSA? In general, most hourly coffee shop employees are covered if:
  • Your business has $500,000 or more in annual gross revenue , or
  • Your business or employees engage in interstate commerce (for example, processing credit card transactions, making out-of-state calls, or shipping goods).
  • If you’re unsure how overtime laws apply to your specific business or state, we recommend confirming with your accountant or legal advisor.
  • Dripos will then automatically calculate overtime based on the settings you enable in your account.
