Modifiers allow you to customize a product through add-ons or modifications.

There are two categories of modifiers: Pricing and Add-On. Pricing modifiers change the default price of products, while Add-On modifiers add to the base price of a product. You are able to attach modifiers to products through the Dripos Web Dashboard.

Modifier Types

When creating a modifier, you can choose between two different types: Add-On modifiers and Pricing modifiers.

Add-On modifiers add to the base price of a product, while Pricing modifiers change the default price of products.

Pricing modifiers change the default price of products.

With this modifier type, you have the option to select if the modifier multiplies, meaning there will be a multiple that other modifiers in the group will increase by.

An example of a Pricing modifier would be “Size”, with options of “Small”, “Medium”, and “Large”, and the modifier multiple moving from 1 to 1.5 to 2:


Create Modifiers

You are able to create modifiers through the Dripos Web Dashboard. You can then attach modifiers to products to make them customizable through add-ons or modifications.

There are two types of modifiers that you are able to create: Add-On modifiers and Pricing modifiers.

Create Add-On Modifiers on the Web Dashboard

  1. Log on to the Web Dashboard. Once signed in, select Sales > Menu and click the Modifiers tab on the left hand side:
  1. Click Create Modifier in the top right corner > select Add-On:
  1. A pop-up will appear where you will need to fill in the following fields:

Name: Input what you would like the modifier to be named.

Internal Tag (Optional): If you plan to have two modifiers with the same name, input an internal tag here in order to uniquely identify them. Internal tags are not displayed on any of your order platforms.

Modifier Type: Select from the dropdown which the type of add-on you want this modifier to have for a product. You can select between five different modifier types:

Default Option (Optional): If you selected a Single Select modifier type, you have the option to set one of your modifier options as the default.

Required: If you select yes, the modifier will be required to select in order to add an attached product to the cart on any order platform.

Enabled: Here, you can select if the modifier will be available on your shop’s Order App and Order Website . If you select no, the modifier will not display on your mobile ordering platforms.

  1. Once you have finished filling in the required fields, click the Add Option button on the right side of the page:
  1. Next, input the: name of the modifier option under the Name column, the price of the modifier option under the Price column, and select if you would like tax to be enabled for the modifier option by selecting either yes or no under the Enabled column:
  1. Repeat the same steps above for each modifier option that you want attached to the modifier group.

  2. Once you have finished filling in all of these fields for your modifier options, click Save in the bottom right corner:

Create Pricing Modifiers on the Web Dashboard

  1. Log on to the Web Dashboard. Once signed in, select Sales > Menu > and click the Modifiers tab on the left hand side:
  1. Click Create Modifier in the top right corner > select Pricing:
  1. A pop-up will appear where you will need to fill in the following fields:

Name: Input what you would like the modifier to be named.

Internal Tag (Optional): If you plan to have two modifiers with the same name, input an internal tag here in order to uniquely identify them. Internal tags are not shown on the POS.

Modifier Multiples: Here, you have the option to select if there is a multiple that the modifier options will increase by.

Default Option (Optional): Here, you have the option to set one of your modifier options as the default.

Required: Select if the modifier will be required when adding this product to a cart on all platforms.

Enabled: Select if the modifier will be available on your shop’s Order App and Order Website . If you select no, the modifier will not display on your mobile ordering platforms.

  1. Once you have finished filling in the required fields, click the Add Option button on the right side of the page:
  1. Next, input: the name of the modifier option under the Name column, the price of the modifier option under the Price column, and select if you would like tax to be enabled for the modifier option by selecting either yes or no under the Enabled column:
  1. If you selected yes for the Modifier Multiples field, input the multiple for that modifier option under the Modifier Multiple column:
  1. Repeat the same steps above for each modifier option that you want attached to that modifier group.

  2. Once you have finished filling in all of these fields for your modifier options, click Save in the bottom right corner:

Modifiers will always be displayed on the POS, even if they are disabled on mobile.


Attach Modifiers to Products

Attach a Modifier to a Product on the Web Dashboard

  1. Log on to the Web Dashboard. Once signed in, select Sales > Menu > click the Products tab on the left hand side:
  1. Find the product you wish to attach a modifier to and click View:
  1. Once on the product’s page, scroll down to the bottom of the page > select the Modifiers tab > click on the Add Modifer button:
  1. Next, select which type of modifer you want to add to this product:

Global Modifier: This type of modifier is created outside of individual products and can be applied to any products. Some common global modifiers include size and temperature.

If you select this modifier type, you will be prompted to select a pre-existing global modifier from the dropdown:

Custom Modifier: This type of modifier is specific to each product, and can not be applied to other products.

If you select this modifier type, a pop-up will appear where you must input the modifier’s Name, Tag (Optional), and Type.

You must also select whether or not clicking this modifier should be Required in order to check out the product, and whether or not this modifier should be Enabled for mobile ordering:

  1. Once you have finished, click Save. Your selected modifier will then display under the Modifiers section of your product’s page:
